Another PTI leader arrested in May 9 riots case
The police have not yet provided details about the accusations made against Khalid Gujjar.
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Khalid Gujjar has been arrested by Punjab police in connection with his alleged involvement in the tumultuous events that unfolded on May 9.
Sources claim that Khalid Gujjar, who also happened to be Shabbir Gujjar's brother and was hiding from police ever since the events of May 9, was apprehended on Raiwind Road.
Following the May 9 occurrences that spread across Pakistan following the arrest of the PTI chairman in the Al-Qadir Trust case, several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf figures are being investigated.
Khalid Gujjar was not only a well-known PTI member but also a PTI candidates for the National Assembly seat, it has also come to light.
The police have not yet provided details about the accusations made against Khalid Gujjar.
In a recent development, the government amended all of the accused's challans to include sedition terms, including Chairman PTI, who was reportedly responsible for the attacks and fires on May 9.
According to details, Section 120B has been present in all cases, including the primary case from May 9, according to SSP Investigation Dr. Anoosh Masood Chaudhry.
She said that despite the absence of the Chairman PTI Imran Khan at the scene of the incident, there was evidence of inciting and planning a rebellion against the state.
Police claims that the sedition charges were added after the prosecution raised objections to the challan.
So, all objections of prosecution have been removed. Now challan will be submitted after receiving the report of the agencies, the sources concluded.
