UAE: Heavy fine announced for breaking Covid-19 SOPs on Eid

In a bid to contain the spread of novel coronavirus, the Abu Dhabi Police have announced that on Eid-Ul-Fitr gatherings and parties are banned. If found, the host will be fined Dh10,000 and each guest, Dh5,000.

Residents asked to report Covid safety violations to the police to 8002626.

On Monday, a top Dubai Police officer had said that gatherings of over five are banned.

Authorities called on residents to comply with all Covid safety measures, including mask use and social distancing. The police urged residents to avoid social practices that pose a risk to the health and safety of residents.

Gatherings at home or farms or any public place are strictly banned.

The police have called on residents to comply with COVID-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and has warned that those who do not face legal repercussions

Last year, only people who registered themselves on the official website and received approval were allowed to leave home.

However, those working in vital fields including energy, communications, medical, police, army, pharmaceuticals, electricity, water and media were allowed to go out without registering, although they were directed to carry Emirates ID and work ID to present for verification.
