Educational institutions to remain closed in Sindh tomorrow
The decision to shut down the schools, colleges and universities has been taken by the relevant authorities due to heavy rainfall prediction.
Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts heavy rainfall accompanied by wind or thunderstorms in various districts of Sindh.
Karachi: The Sindh government on Thursday declared the closure of all educational institutions during the evening shift across the province amid for forecast of heavy rainfall.
The decision, communicated through a notification by the Education Department, encompassed the both government and private educational institutions including schools, colleges, and universities.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by wind or thunderstorms in various districts of Sindh. Karachi, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur, and Mirpurkhas are expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms on February 29th and March 1st, with isolated hailstorms also anticipated during this period.
In response to the weather forecast, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah declared a rain emergency in the province. He chaired a meeting to discuss the weather situation and directed all local bodies, administration, and hospitals to be on high alert.
As a precautionary measure, half-day duty was declared for all government and private institutions in Karachi on Friday considering the expected rainfall situation.
