Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar has said today’s hearing at the US Congress about the Cipher has again proved that Cipher conspiracy of PTI  was a  lie and complete false.

Tarar said the false narrative of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf founding chairman about Cipher distorted our relations at the international level.

The Minister said today’s hearing also proved the PTI chairman as certified lier, who mislead the entire nation and the youth by constantly speaking lies.  He expressed these words while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday.

He said the false narrative of PTI founding chairman was also exposed in the Congress hearing, which was even arranged by the PTI after hiring lobbying firms in the United States.

Ataullah Tarar said PTI, under a well hatched conspiracy, put the interests of the state at the stake just to promote its political narrative and single person prioritized his personal interests over the state interests.

He said it has rarely happened in the history of Pakistan that political leader compromised national interests just for his personal gains.

The Minister said PTI is doing politics of double standard. He said the US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia , Donald Lu also mentioned that five thousand independent observers monitored the elections process.

The press conference followed Doland Lu’s statement before the Congress Committee.

Doland Lu firmly stated, “Imran Khan's conspiracy theory is a lie and complete falsehood."

Addressing the hearing on 'Pakistan After the Elections: Examining the Future of Democracy in Pakistan and the US-Pakistan Relationship,' Lu clarified that neither the US government nor he personally intervened against Imran Khan. He cited Pakistan's former ambassador to the US, Asad Majeed, who affirmed there was no conspiracy.

Lu affirmed the US's respect for Pakistan's sovereignty and the democratic process, emphasizing the people's right to choose their leader.

Although Khan had accused the US of meddling, alleging it would improve ties, the US has consistently denied involvement since Khan's ousting in April 2022 via a no-confidence vote.

Lu also noted the Election Commission of Pakistan's formation of a high-level committee to address rigging allegations. He highlighted concerns over electoral abuses and violence during the February 8 general elections, including attacks on police and journalists.

Despite challenges, Lu commended the significant voter turnout and urged transparent investigations into irregularities.
