Covid-19: Pakistan records sharp decline in single-day fatalities
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,303 cases of coronavirus were reported while 47 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,576.
The NCOC stated that the positivity rate stands at 3.1%.
The total number of cases has reached 938,737.
As many as 873,543 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,841 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 343,499 in the province with 10,457 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 326,413 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,196.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 135,383 in the province with 4,194 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 26,084 confirmed cases while 292 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 19,675 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 560.On the other hand, there are 5,682 cases in GB with 108 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 82,001 cases in the capital city while 769 people have lost their lives
