Azma Video Case: Court summons FIA performance report

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) asked the Federal Information Agency (FIA) for a performance report in the Azma Bokhari fake video case.

During the hearing on the application of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari against the fake video, the LHC adjourned the hearing till September 30, seeking a performance report from the FIA.

Chief Justice Alia Neelam remarked that at the next hearing, they should also inform about the NOC for foreign travel of Direct General (DG) FIA.

The lawyer of the federal government told the court that DG FIA is currently in China and will return next week. On which the Chief Justice LHC inquired about the date he is returning next week. The lawyer said that he does not have information in this regard.

LHC Chief Justice remarked that an authorized person goes out of the country, NOC is issued and you don't know about the date of return.

During the hearing, Azma Bokhari's lawyer told the court that another tweet was made from Falak Javed's account. I have attached all the tweets posted on Falak Javed’s account.

The Chief Justice asked the lawyer of the federal government about the progress in his report and investigation. On which the lawyer said that it seems very easy but it is a difficult target to achieve.

The court said that the FIA has a habit of summoning people and arresting them. Officers don't go and arrest people.

Azma's lawyer said that last night Falak Javed said in a video tweet that she was in Peshawar, which is a very good answer to FIA who are saying that they don't know where Falak is. Last time, she was in Rawalpindi.

In the application of Bokhari, it was decided in the court that character assassination is being done by uploading inappropriate videos on social media. Action should be taken against Falak Javed.
