PTI challenges Practice and Procedure Act

Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) challenged the Practice and Procedure Presidential Ordinance in the Supreme Court.

Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court against the Presidential Ordinance in which the Federation, Ministry of Law and Secretary to the President have been made parties.

The petition requested that the Practice and Procedure Presidential Ordinance be declared unconstitutional while all the decisions of the Practice Procedure Committee after the Presidential Ordinance be declared illegal and annulled.

The petition further requested that the newly constituted Practice Procedure Committee be suspended pending the constitutional petition and the old Practice Procedure Committee be allowed to function pending the petition against the Presidential Ordinance.
