Peace in Afghanistan inevitable for regional stability, says FM
Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says peace in Afghanistan is inevitable for regional stability.
He said this while talking to Iran's Special Envoy on Afghanistan Muhammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard, who called on him, in Islamabad on Thursday.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan has adopted only one stance that there is no military solution to Afghan issue.
“Unrest in Afghanistan has affected both Pakistan and Iran. He expressed concerns over the growing extremism in Afghanistan,” he said.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said peace in Afghanistan will lead to promotion of contacts in the region, enhancement of trade activities, repatriation of Afghan refugees and the regional stability.
He also appreciated the efforts of Iran for establishment of peace in Afghanistan.
