PM in Uzbekistan: Visit laid strong foundation of economic, strategic ties with Central Asia, says Fawad
Islamabad: Federal minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Uzbekistan has laid a strong foundation of economic and strategic relationship with the Central Asian States.
Taking to twitter, the federal minister said that Peshawar-Tashkent train and road network will improve connectivity and linkages with the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with Europe.
“We are also grateful to people and government of Uzbekistan for the affection and respect they have shown towards Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he added.
Pakistan, United States, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan have agreed to establish a new quadrilateral diplomatic platform focused on enhancing regional connectivity, said a statement released by Foreign Office yesterday.
“Recognizing the historic opportunity to open flourishing international trade routes, the parties intend to cooperate to expand trade, build transit links and strengthen business-to-business ties. They agreed to meet in the coming months to determine the modalities of this cooperation with mutual consensus,” the statement read.
