FMA withdraws strike call as govt accepts demands
Lahore: Pakistan Flour Mills Association on Tuesday withdrew strike call after federal government succumbed to pressure and accepted all demands.

As per details garnered, the government has withdrew sales tax on flour, fine, bran and refined flour.

On July 12, Executive Committee of Pakistan Flour Mills Association had announced to observe strike on July 17 against imposition of 17 per cent sales tax (ST) on various products of wheat.

PFMA Punjab chapter chairman Habibur Rehman Leghari said the government had imposed 17pc sales tax on wheat flour, fine, bran and refined flour that would lead to unprecedented price hike as roti, naan and bakery items would go out of reach of the commoners.
