Change of guards at Quaid's and Iqbal's tombs
Pakistan's 73 Independence Day was celebrated on Wednesday morning with a traditional change of guards at the tombs of it's founder Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.
Pakistan Navy guards took over at the tombs of the founder of the nation in Karachi. The 48 cadets of the Naval Academy were lead by Lieutenant Commander Muhammad Faizan. Commandant Naval Academy Commodore Irfan Take inspected the parade. After offering prayers at the grave, a floral wreath was also placed on the tomb.
Over in Lahore, the Northern Lights Infantry took over the guard duty at the grave of Allama Iqbal. General Officer Commanding, Major General Muhammad Yousaf was the guest of honor at the ceremony. After prayers were offered at the grave of the poet, floral wreaths were placed at the tomb.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, and Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar also paid their respects at the tomb and laid wreaths on the grave.
