Curfew in IoK to be eased after 15 August: Satya Pal Malik
Srinagar: State Governor of Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), Satya Pal Malik, has said on Wednesday that curfew restrictions will be eased after India's Independence Day on 15 August but phone lines and internet will not be restored.
Talking to Times of India, the governor said that means of communication will not be restored but restrictions on freedom of movement will be relaxed.
"In a week or ten days we will gradually open lines of communication."
The occupied valley has been in a state of virtual blackout since August 4, when India abrogated articles 370 and 35A its Constitution, with means of communication cut off, public gatherings and rallies prohibited and a strict curfew in place.

On Wednesday, Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi addressed Malik in a tweet and asked when he could visit the area "with no conditions attached."
