‘Killer’ kite string claims another life
Lahore: Punjab government has failed to save the citizens from risks posed by kite string as a young man has been killed after the string slit his throat in Muslim Town area of provincial capital on Friday.
According to details, the man known as Aftab was on his way on a bike when a kite string fell on him, slitting his throat. He died on the spot.
After getting information of the incident, the local police reached the spot and shifted the body to a nearby hospital.
The deceased was serving as a lecturer at Lahore’s Dial Singh College.
Taking notice of the incident, Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore has summoned a report from DIG Operations in this regard.
He issued directives for the police to ensure implementation government’s directives to avoid such incidents in future.
Earlier in January, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar imposed a complete ban on Basant festival across the province.
