Political temperature rises as PML-N leaders, PTI supporters clash outside Parliament
Islamabad: Political temperature is on the rise as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) clashed outside parliament ahead of Prime Minister Imran Khan seeking vote of confidence.
According to details, PML-N leaders were addressing a presser outside parliament house when PTI supporters confronted opposition leaders and started chanted slogans.
Soon after, the supporters of ruling party surrounded Marriyum Aurangzeb following which Musadiq Malik and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi exchanged barbs with PTI supporters.
Later, the heavy contingent of police deployed outside parliament house intervened and dispersed PTI supporters.
Earlier, while addressing presser, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi declared the NA session as illegal and unconstitutional.
“Imran Khan lost majority on the same day his finance minister suffered defeat in senate polls. We will not surrender in front of oppressors. Taking vote of confidence is also a failure of Imran Khan,” he said.
He further stated that PM’s representatives have no morality or courage.
Also present on occasion, Ahsan Iqbal stated that opposition has rejected the fascist politics of Imran Khan.
