According to details, Sheikhupura has also witnessed a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases with 20 critical patients being admitted in District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ).

As per the focal person of DHQ hospital, all patients are corona positive and in critical condition.

He added that so far more than 100 patients are admitted in hospital after third wave emerged with 30 deaths.

Briefing over the vaccine situation, the focal person said that more than 500 people are administered with Covid-19 vaccine.

The Punjab government has tightened restrictions in seven cities including provincial capital Lahore, as Covid-19 cases soar.

On Saturday, a notification was issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department in which it was stated that the provincial government has banned wedding ceremonies (in both marquees and halls), sports activities and public gatherings in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sargodha from March 15 to March 29, where the coronavirus positivity rate is more than 5 percent.

Moreover, all shrines and cinema halls will remain closed until further decision, whereas parks will be closed at 6 pm.
