Soldier martyred in crossfire with terrorists in North Waziristan's Miranshah
Army troops fought bravely and effectively engaged the location of the terrorists.
Rawalpindi: A soldier of the armed forces of Pakistan embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the fire exchange between Army troops and the terrorists took place in Miranshah area of the North Waziristan District.
Army troops fought bravely and effectively engaged the location of the terrorists.
A terrorist identified as Ziaullah was killed when Army repulsed the firing. A cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorist hideout, ISPR added.
The ISPR statement, however, said during the intense exchange of fire 32-year-old Naik Zahid Ahmad having fought gallantly embraced Shahadat (martyrdom).
An area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the region, the ISPR statement concluded.
