Lahore: The Punjab government Tuesday has approved the declaration of the NAB office as a red zone during Maryam's appearance.

Regarding the appearance of Maryam Nawaz on March 26, the anti-graft body has requested the Federal Interior Ministry and Punjab Government for the deployment of Rangers and police.

The Federal Home Ministry Affairs on Bureau’s request has approved the deployment of Rangers for the security at NAB office further declaring NAB office as a ‘red zone’.

After the approval, security of the accountability establishment office will be handed over to Rangers and police.

Sources said approval has been granted for Punjab Rangers and police personnel to be deployed within the NAB office and surrounding areas on March 25 and 26.

Punjab Minister for Law Raja Basharat has said that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands and strict action will be taken against those who distract law and order and violate coronavirus safety protocols.

In addition, rumours are also circulating that Maryam Nawaz would be arrested during her appearance in on March 26. However, according to sources, there is no possibility of NAB arresting Maryam Nawaz.

Earlier, Seasoned journalist while requesting NAB Chairman and DG said that a conspiracy to attack the Anti-Corruption department is being planned and there is a fear of bloodshed in Lahore on March 26.

As opposition’s intentions are unfaithful so Government on the occasion of Maryam’s NAB appearance should not be rely only on Punjab Police but Rangers should be called, he advised.
