Contracts with IPPs not in public interest

The previous government did not look at the public interest at the time of agreements with IPPs. The earlier governments made such agreements that whether you buy electricity or not, you have to pay. Agreements have been renegotiated and prices have been reduced.

IMF lends at the lowest interest rates

The Prime Minister said that no one talks about the good actions taken by the government. No one appreciates them for stabilizing the country’s economy. He got Pakistan while in a deficit of $20 billion. IMF lends Pakistan at the lowest interest rate. The conditions laid down by the IMF include reforms in the State Bank.

'Don't underestimate current inflation'

In his government, NAB and judiciary are independent while 95% of the cases against opposition were not made by his government but were old. In the previous government, the NAB was also involved in protecting the thieves. It is not easy to capture the powerful. PM urged people to not underestimate the current inflation while referring to Venezuela and other countries however he said people will have to be a little patient for real change, as the country’s economy is moving towards growth.

When asked about the health sector, the Prime Minister said that health cards are revolutionizing the health sector. People in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be able to get free treatment with health cards while all families in KP have been given health cards. Health cards are also being issued to all families in Punjab. Besides, “we will build new hospitals on government lands,”

 Can't fight corruption alone

The Prime Minister said that corruption is cancer that has spread not only in Pakistan but in every poor country. The corruption of the rulers makes the countries indebted however corruption also destroys rich countries. $1,000 billion are stolen from poor countries every year. “The entire nation fights corruption together, Imran Khan cannot fight alone.”

His government had asked Nawaz Sharif to submit a security bond but the judiciary sent him out. Making law will not end corruption, we all have to work for it, added. “How can we fight against corruption if the courts do not agree with us?”

 'The real thing is law enforcement'

The real thing is the rule of law, the fight for the rule of law is being fought in Pakistan, some people consider themselves superior to the law and say that Imran Khan's government should be overthrown because it does not give NRO.

 ‘The biggest torment is the land grabbers’

To a question, the Prime Minister said that the biggest torment at the moment is the land mafias. These powerful people have the patronage of political people while mafia groups in Lahore had the patronage of political people. Government land worth Rs400 billion has been taken back from the landgrabbers. 

The Prime Minister said that only those who have money can build houses in Pakistan whereas for the first time the government has paid full attention to the construction sector. He has talked to the presidents of the banks to make housing financing easier.
