Leading film director S. Suleman passes away at the age of 80
Lahore: Acclaimed Pakistani filmmaker and producer S. Suleman breathed his last at 80 on Wednesday.
As per details, the star had been suffering from kidney related issues and was also battling diabetes owing to which he had been hospitalized a few times before.
His wife who is also a famed actor Zarrin Panna confirmed that the director's condition became critical two days prior to his demise and was being treated at a private hospital.
His family confirmed the news in a statement.
He was hailed as a mentor for many of the directors and actors in Pakistani film industry including Syed Noor, who served as his assistant director for 18 feature films.
His funeral prayers will be offered in Lahore on Friday when their son returns to Pakistan.
The legendary filmmaker was the younger brother of actors Santosh Kumar and Darpan and was popularly known as S Suleman.
He directed nearly 48 films between 1961 and 1998, and has a number of TV serials to his credit as well.
Some of Suleman’s most successful films include Gulfam, Baaji and Aag.
