PM Imran Khan condemns Quetta blast, seeks report
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly denounced the Quetta blast in which five people were killed and several others sustained injuries.
Monitoring the whole situation till late at night Imran Khan summoned a detailed report over the tragic incident and directed the Ministry of Interior to investigate the incident from all its aspects and reach the depth of the matter.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi condemned the blast and stated that nation stands soldier to soldier with the armed force of the country to foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists to destabilize country.
Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid also expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident and sympathized with the affected families and sought a report from the Balochistan Chief Secretary over the incident.
On the other hand, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, condemning the Quetta blast said the enemies of Pakistan’s peace and progress will always fail.
Moreover, many other political leaders including Chief Minister Balochistan, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq have also strongly condemned the Quetta blast.
The powerful blast took place near a hotel on the city's Zarghun Road on Wednesday night.
Media sources indicated that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that targeted the hotel’s parking in which high-profile political figures including foreigners were staying.
Heightened security and road closures may continue near the blast site for investigations.
