Maryam Nawaz cancels Karachi visit
Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has cancelled her scheduled visit to Karachi in view of rising coronavirus cases.
According to Party spokesperson Marriyam Aurangzeb, Mryam Nawaz has cancelled her visit to the metropolitan city due to the coronavirus posing the threat to people’s lives. The decision was taken to keep people workers save from the pandemic’s third wave.
Reportedly, Maryam Nawaz held a telephonic conversation with PML-N supremo and former premier Nawaz Sharif following which she directed concerned authorities to cancel her visit.
Maryam Nawaz was scheduled to reach Karachi today for the election campaign of PML-N candidate Miftah Ismail for by-elections on a National Assembly seat (NA-249) in Karachi.
PML-N Karachi was all set to welcome its leader and preparations in this regard were underway.
Maryam was supposed to lead rallies in different areas of NA-249 constituency and the main public gathering was to be held at Bismillah Chowk of Baldia Town area of Karachi.
The by-elections are scheduled to be held on April 29.
