Reports suggest the voter turnout was satisfactory.

Earlier, the voting started at 8:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm without any interval.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finalized all necessary arrangements for conducting by-elections in PP-84-Khushab, under the coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Around 229 polling stations have been established in the constituency to facilitate 292,687 registered voters, to freely cast their vote in the by-polls.

At least 14 polling stations have been declared sensitive while 43 are extremely delicate and will be monitored with the help of CCTV cameras.

The government has appointed ten teams that will monitor the electoral process all the way to the announcement of the results.

As per security concerns, the personnel of law enforcement agencies including 600 Rangers and 2880 policemen are deployed on duty outside all the polling stations.

The seat fell vacant after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Malik Muhammad Waris died from Covid-19.

At least eight candidates are vying for the PA seat. However, a tough contest is expected between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ali Hasnain, PML-N candidate Muazzam Sher Kalu and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Ghulam Habib.
