SBP issues data regarding Pakistan's increased debt
The Central Bank's statement told that government's debt increased by one and a half percent in a month.
Islamabad: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released the details of debt of the Government of Pakistan till the end of July 2023.
In the statement issued by State Bank, it is said that debt of Pakistan has increased by Rs907 billion in July. The debt of government at the end of July 2023 is Rs61,700 billion.
The Central Bank's statement told that government's debt increased by one and a half percent in a month.
It is further stated by SBP that total debt of the government is Rs39,000 billion internal while the external debt of the government is Rs22,073 billion.
It is pertinent to note that few days ago in the report of Ministry of Finance, it was stated that by March 2023, Pakistan's foreign debt decreased by $3.60 billion, however the value of dollar increased. Due to which the foreign debt owed by Pakistan further increased by Rs6 thousand billion.
