Malls, markets to remain closed from today, announces Sindh Govt
Karachi: The Government of Sindh on Sunday has announced that all business, shopping centres and markets will remain closed from today till May 16.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department, Bakery, Grocery Store, Milk shop, meat and vegetables markets will remain open till 7pm.
Restaurants are allowed to remain open while there will be a ban on indoor and outdoor dining with the exception allowed to delivery and takeaways.
Meanwhile, all kinds of transport intercity and inter-province will remain suspended while private vehicles will be allowed within 50% capacity.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
The country today witnessed slight decline in Covid-19 infections in a single day after a period of 10 days as 3,785 new positive cases were reported along with 118 deaths during last 24 hours.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the total death toll raised to 18,915.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 858,026.
As many as 757,281 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,903 critical cases.
