Decision due this week on PSL crowd participation
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to hear the final word from National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) this week on its request to have a limited number of spectators during the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
As per sources, PCB confirmed that the board has held discussions with NCOC related to crowd participation in the tournament and final decision in this regard is likely to be taken on Thursday.
PCB desired the permission to have spectators from around 20 to 40 percent of stadium’s total capacity after which up to 6,500 fans would be allowed at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore and 8,000 at National Stadium Karachi.
Following the meeting, PCB officials briefed NCOC about steps it will take to ensure public health and safety. Although social distancing will be maintained, but coronavirus test will not be mandatory for cricket fans to get entry into the stadium.
Moreover, PSL's sixth edition will start on February 20, and the first leg will be played in Karachi before the tournament is shifted to Lahore for the second phase.
