Stock market concludes at lower-end
The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s 100-Index on Thursday fell 33 points to close at 48,093.
During trading, the 100-Index also touched a four-year high of 48,434 points, but this level could not be maintained till the end of trading.
At the end of trading time, the index level was lower than yesterday where overall trading volumes dropped to 889.9 million shares compared with Wednesday’s tally of 1.05 billion.
The value of shares traded during the day was Rs31.7 billion.
Shares of 428 companies were traded. At the end of the day, 229 stocks closed higher, 172 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
Market capitalization has increased by Rs16 billion to Rs8,331 billion.
After a steady rise, the price of gold per tola in the country also came down by Rs150.
According to Sindh Barter Bazaar Jewelers Association, after a reduction of Rs 150, the value of a tola of gold in the country has come down to Rs112,150.
The value of 10 grams of gold has decreased by Rs130 to Rs 96,150.
According to the association, the value of gold in the global exchange market has decreased by one dollar to $1,895 per ounce.
