While addressing a presser, Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the federal government has deprived Sindhof its due funds under last year’s budget.

“Sindh was promised Rs742 billion under the budgetary allocation last year, however, the amount was later revised to Rs680 billion,” he said adding, “We have currently received Rs598 billion during last 11 months.”

Referring to the distribution of water resources, Murad Ali Shah said demanded federal government to pressurize IRSA in order to carry out fair distribution of water resources.

“Sindh was supposed to get a share of 8.292 million acre-feet of water, however, the province has only received 5.385 million acre-feet of it. I am not blaming Punjab for water theft, the blame is on those who are responsible for water distribution,” he said.

Chief Minister Sindh said that the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa got 38% more than its water share while Balochistan received 35% more water adding that all four provinces should have an equal share in the cut in case of water shortage.
