Students set school on fire after completion of exams
Cairo: A school building has been set ablaze in Al-Gharbiya Governorate of south Egypt by a group of its own students. Egyptian students set fire to the school after exams ended, causing extraordinary damage to the school.
As per details, students with technical diplomas at Workers' City School in the Al-Kabra neighborhood set fire to their own school after completing their exams, destroying furniture and equipment.
After being reported, rescue teams reached the spot. The fire brigade launched an immediate rescue operation and contained the blaze before it could spread enormously.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Education decided to investigate the incident and impose heavy fines on those who set the school on fire.
Authorities are currently prosecuting students who were involved in the arson attack by obtaining CCTV footage from surveillance cameras that were installed in the school and surrounding buildings.
Dr Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, revealed that the ministry was currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and the motives of the students.
