NEPRA approves Rs. 1.53 per unit hike in power tariff
Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved increase in the electricity rates for consumers of Rs. 1.53 per unit on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment.
As per notification, issued by NEPRA, Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs. 0.80 whereas increase of Rs 0.53 is made.
In this regard, the authority held a public hearing on January 27, 2021 following the Fuel Charge Adjustments (FCA).
Following the notification, the fuel price adjustment will not be applicable to the K-electric consumers and for the time being the tariff will only be applicable to February bills.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet approved an increase in electricity rates by 3.24 per unit for various consumers of Karachi.
