Karachi: Former Chief Minister and 8th Governor of Sindh passed away on Sunday, his family confirmed. He was 88.

Mumtaz Ali Khan Bhutto was suffering from an ailment for a while. His body will be sent to Larkana at 6pm for funeral prayers.

Born on 28 November 1933, Mumtaz Ali Khan Bhutto was a Pakistani politician who served as 8th Governor of Sindh and later the 13th Chief Minister of Sindh.

He is also the first cousin of former Prime Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Bhutto, after developing differences with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) formed his own party named the Sindh National Front (SNF).

In 2017, he announced that the SNF had merged with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
