PM stops Dr Firdous from resigning as Punjab CM aide
Lahore: Prime Minister Imran Khan has stopped Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan from resigning from the post of Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister for Information.
According to details, Premier Imran has asked Dr Awan to continue her work as a special aide to Punjab CM Usman Buzdar.
Earlier, Firdous Ashiq Awan decided to resign from the Punjab provincial cabinet.
“I will request Prime Minister Imran Khan to accept my resignation,” she said.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan decided to resign to take part in the by-elections in PP-38, as per the sources divulged on Monday.
The PP-38 seat fell vacant after PML (N) MPA Khush Akhtar Subhani passed away.
It is to be noted that the by-poll is scheduled to be held on July 28.
A statement issued by Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has revealed that she has taken this decision to fully participate in the by-election campaign in Sialkot.
