Pakistan reports over 1800 cases as threat of delta variant looms large

Islamabad: Pakistan has reported over 1800 cases in last one day amid threat of Indian delta variant which is said to be highly contagious.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,841 cases of coronavirus were reported while 32 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,971.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 11001,875.

As many as 924,782 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,551 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                         

The number of patients swelled to 352,153 in the province with 10,924 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 363,101 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,793.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 141,495 in the province with 4,411 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 29,451 confirmed cases while 322 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 22,685 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 609. On the other hand, there are 7,639 cases in GB with 122 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 85,351 cases in the capital city while 790 people have lost their lives.
