Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has said that the rate of Covid-19 deaths per million population in Pakistan remained the lowest but the risk is not over.

Taking to twitter, Asad Umar who also heads the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said that in Iran some 1037 people died out of one million population while in Nepal the number was 326, India 301, Sri Lanka 186, Afghanistan 160, and Bangladesh 113.

“Timely decisions, hard work, cooperation of people & blessings of Allah made this possible,” he said warning people to follow Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and also vaccinate themselves against the virus.

Pakistan has reported over 1800 cases in last one day amid threat of Indian delta variant which is said to be highly contagious.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,841 cases of coronavirus were reported while 32 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,971.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 11001,875.

As many as 924,782 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,551 critical cases.
