Pakistan sees highest daily COVID spike since May 2021

Islamabad: Pakistan's coronavirus tally Monday reached 1,008,446 with the detection of 3,752 new cases in the last 24 hours, with authorities linking the uptick in numbers to the fourth wave of the deadly outbreak across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,752 cases of coronavirus were reported while 32 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 23,048.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,008,446.

As many as 927,599 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,677 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                       

The number of patients swelled to 353,238 in the province with 10,944 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 367,092 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,833.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 141,925 in the province with 4,420 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 29,571 confirmed cases while 325 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 23,093 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 610. On the other hand, there are 7,747 cases in GB with 123 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 85,780 cases in the capital city while 793 people have lost their lives.
