According to details, UAE's cabinet had earlier approved the establishment of an embassy in Tel Aviv in Israel, after which Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Khaja sworn in as UAE’s first ever envoy to Israel. It was not immediately clear when Mohamed Al-Khaja will arrive in Israel to take up his post.

Previously, Israel had opened its embassy in Abu Dhabi after the two countries normalized ties last September, with the signing of the so-called Abraham Accords at the White House in Washington in a deal brokered by then-US president Donald Trump’s administration.
