Islamabad: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Jahangir Khan Tareen has emerged on scene as Prime Minister Imran Khan sought his help for victory in upcoming senate polls.

According to details, Prime Minister has given Tareen the task of contacting and convincing disgruntled PTI members from South Punjab.

Tareen also assured PM of his support and discussed strategies to sweep in upcoming Senate elections.

As per sources, the PTI leader visited Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and Lodhran and met assembly members. Moreover, he is also in contact with members of Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan.

The members dissatisfied with Punjab government assured Jahangir Tareen of their cooperation.

Earlier yesterday, Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh Reportedly also contacted Tareen for support in senate polls to which PTI leader assured him of full cooperation.

A tough contest is expected between Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) joint candidate Yousaf Raza Gillani and PTI’s Hafeez Sheikh for the upcoming Senate elections.

It is pertinent to mention here that Senate elections will be held on March 03 across the country.
