UAE approves establishment of embassy in Tel Aviv
Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) cabinet on Sunday approved a plan to establish an embassy in Tel Aviv "in Israel", the government of the desert kingdom announced through its twitter account.
UAE and Israel agreed to normalise relations in August 2020, amidst a spate of diplomatic activity brokered by the administration of former US President Donald Trump.
Emirates, the Dubai based premier airline of the UAE, announced earlier this month that it will begin flights to Tel Aviv in February this year. With the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, an air-corridor has been created. Saudi Arabia facilitated the decision by allowing the flights to pass through their airspace.
