PIA announces increase in number of international flights
Karachi: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to increase the number of its international flights to Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, boosting the foreign exchange.
The spokesperson in a statement said that in the first phase, the national flag-carrier will operate five flights in a week between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
"In second phase, seven flights will operate between Pakistan and Kabul on daily basis," added spokesperson.
According to PIA’s timetable, the airline will open direct flights to Baku from March 14. The flight departs from Lahore twice a week.
The national airline has announced to operate direct flights to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city from March 28. The flights will be operated between Lahore and Tashkent.
The statement also pointed out that PIA has sought permission from Uzbekistan to operate its flights to Samarkand and Bukhara.
