Sindh Health Department decides to collect COVID-19 samples from schools
A letter has been issued by Sindh Health Department to all DHOs in this regard stating that 100 samples from schools in each district will be collected
Karachi: As many as 100 samples will be collected from schools in each district in Sindh.
According to details, Sindh Health Department has decided to collect COVID-19 samples from the schools.
A letter has been issued by Sindh Health Department to all DHOs in this regard stating that 100 samples from schools in each district will be collected and samples will be sent to the Corona Dow Lab of the hospitals.
It also states that these samples will be tested in the labs and then the results will be communicated to the Sindh Health Department Task Force.
According to the health department, the decision to close or reopen schools will be based on the rate of cases, while the provincial task force will decide on the closure of schools based on the rate of cases.
Earlier, the Sindh government had decided that schools will not be closed and the educational activities will continue in the province despite an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Provincial Task Force chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the CM House.
