PTI took $52 bln loan, repaid $38 bln in foreign debt taken by previous govts: Fawad Chaudhry

Islamabad: Former Federal Minister Fawad Ahmed Chaudhry said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) government had only taken $52 billion in loans out of which $38 billion were used to pay back the foreign debt taken by previous governments.
While responding to a Twitter post of Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said the PTI government took loans worth $52 billion, of which $38 billion was spent on returning the loans taken by the PML-N government during their previous tenure.
Earlier today, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb had said on her Twitter that former finance minister Shaukat Tarin has admitted that the PTI government got twenty thousand billion rupees loans during four years which is 76 percent of total loans in the history of Pakistan.
"Imran Khan will also admit many such things soon", she added.
