Karachi: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Friday reduced the power tariff for K-Electric (KE) consumers by Rs4.12 per unit.

Accoriding to the statement issued by the regulatory body, the KE’s management had been directed to ensure relief to the masses in September’s electricity bill.

The tariff has been determined for the next month's bill for consumers in the port city.

NEPRA stated that the cost of electricity has been reduced as part of July’s fuel price adjustment (FPA).

The notification further mentions that following the reduction of the power tariff, KE’s consumers would receive a relief of Rs7.4 billion.

Earlier following the government’s decision of waiving fuel adjustment charges (FCA) on electricity bills for households that consume power up to 200 units or five kilowatts load, KE announced that the revised bills would be issued from August 26.
