‘Long march to resume from Wazirabad on Tuesday’: Imran Khan
Imran Khan said that he will join the long march to Islamabad from Rawalpindi.
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced Sunday that his party's long march will resume on Tuesday (November 8) from Wazirabad the ‘same place where he got shot’.
While addressing a press conference in Lahore today, Khan said: “I will address every day from the hospital,” adding that he will lead the march from Rawalpindi.
The protest march was called off after former Prime Minister Imran Khan sustained bullet wounds on Thursday in an assassination bid.
Imran Khan alleged that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and a senior military officer were plotting his assassination plan.
“This time there should be an immediate decision on the basis of justice,” said Khan, requesting the chief justice to form a full court commission.
Khan also claimed that he has been was facing stiff resistance from the police on registering an FIR for three days as some people were afraid of naming a senior military officer.
He added that thus far they have been told that the FIR can be filed against Prime Minister and Federal Interior Minister.
“Are there any people who are above the law in Pakistan?” he asked.
“I, former Prime Minister and the leader of the biggest political party saying that these three people are involved,” Imran said adding that he has every right to name them in the FIR.
“Only investigation will reveal whether they are involved or not,” he added.
In the meantime, Punjab Police detained at least three suspects linked to the shooting and denied receiving any application from the party leaders for an FIR.
