ECP suspends by-elections for 37 National Assembly seats

The seats include 24 constituencies of national assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three in Islamabad, nine in Sindh, three in Islamabad and one in Balochistan.

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Sunday  suspended its notifications regarding electoral process for by-elections on 37 seats of national assembly.

These include 24 constituencies of national assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three in Islamabad, nine in Sindh, three in Islamabad and one in Balochistan.

The polling process has been suspended in pursuance of orders of high courts of Islamabad, Peshawar, Sindh and Balochistan.

Earlier in the day, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique called on Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Sunday.

They discussed various issues including Railways, Aviation and overall political situation of the country.

Besides it, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the democratic and political stability was inevitable for progress and development of the country.

Addressing a party workers convention in Lahore on Sunday, he said political workers have to put their efforts for improving the living standard of common man.

He said that PML-N leadership is busy in solving issues of masses.

Talking about economic policies of PTI Chief, he said general public are still suffering from imprudent economic policies.

He said PTI Chief is responsible for political instability in the country.

He said that disqualification of Nawaz Sharif on basis of Aqama was a conspiracy against democracy and country.
