Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday rejected the petition filed for the restoration of the Punjab Assembly with a fine.

According to details, Justice Shahid Karim of LHC heard the petition filed by citizen Sharafat Ali—who is a political worker from Faisalabad—for the restoration of Punjab Assembly, in which the petitioner's lawyer took the stand that Chief Minister of Punjab dissolved the assembly without any reason.

During the hearing of the plea, Justice Shahid inquired who it is who has filed the application, what kind of application has been filed.

The judge remarked: “Such petitions waste the time of the court”.

Later, the court dismissed the application as inadmissible with a fine of Rs100,000. It also stated that if you would plead to waive the fine, it will be increased up to Rs200,000.
