Hiroshima: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting during the summit.

Earlier Modi posted about his appearance at G7 Hiroshima Summit on his official Twitter account.

In contrast to some other leaders at the summit, Modi did not publicly condemn Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

India maintains close economic ties with Russia and has increased its imports of Russian energy since the conflict began.

Although India is not a member of the G7, Modi was invited to the summit along with other leaders from non-G7 countries, as part of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's efforts to strengthen ties with the Global South.

Earlier in the day, Zelenskyy had separate meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
