Kosovo: Tensions escalated in northern Kosovo as ethnic Serbs clashed with NATO-led peacekeeping forces, leaving 30 international peacekeepers injured.

The violence erupted when ethnic Serbs attempted to block recently elected ethnic Albanian officials from entering municipal buildings.

The clash occurred in the municipality of Zvecan, resulting in injuries to 11 Italian and 19 Hungarian soldiers.

Improvised explosive incendiary devices caused fractures and burns, while three Hungarian soldiers suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Both parties involved were urged to take responsibility and prevent further escalation.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who ordered his troops to be on high alert, reported 52 injuries among Serbs involved in the clashes.
