KPK: In a major breakthrough against terrorism, security forces have claimed the elimination of a "most wanted" terrorist commander and two associates during an operation in Darra Adamkhel.

According to authorities, Zafar, also known as Zafri, along with his two companions, was killed in an alleged encounter with security forces.

The operation was conducted following a tip-off received on the night between June 16 and 17, leading to the successful operation.

Among those neutralized were Hassan Khan from Darra Adamkhel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Anas, also known as Ali, from Nangarhar, Afghanistan.

All three individuals were reportedly associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Intelligence agencies and security forces employed unconventional tactics and strategies to track down these suspected terrorists.

Zafri, the alleged mastermind, hailed from Malan village in Darra Adamkhel.

He had recently returned from Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, on May 22.

Zafri is believed to have been affiliated with the Afghan Taliban in the past and is allegedly responsible for orchestrating 26 major attacks in Pakistan, targeting security forces, coal contractors, businessmen, and influential figures.

He has reportedly amassed substantial wealth through extortion and ransom kidnappings.

Hassan Khan, the other militant killed, was known for his expertise in sniping and grenade attacks.

He had links with the Afghan Taliban from 2019 to 2021 and frequently traveled to Nangarhar province.

In 2022, he reportedly joined the Tariq Geedar group.

Meanwhile, Anas had been involved in activities in North and South Waziristan since 2018, demonstrating his proficiency as a skilled sniper targeting security forces.
