Monsoon rains likely to continue till July 26: PMD
The PMD has urged all relevant agencies to exercise cautious and be on the lookout during the anticipated period.
Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday has predicted that the monsoon rains will probably last for a few more days.
Monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal are affecting the nation, while its upper areas are also being influenced by a westerly trough.
The PMD has forecasted strong to very heavy rainfall, wind, and thunderstorms throughout a number of locations. The following locations include Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, and many others from July 22 to July 26, with a few gaps in between.
Furthermore, from July 22 to July 24, there may be sporadic intervals of isolated heavy rain in a number of different places, including Zhob, Mastung, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Tharparkar, Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Karachi.
In addition, the PMD has issued alerts regarding potential landslides, flash flooding, and urban flooding in specific regions that could result from prolonged periods of heavy rain. People in these areas are asked to exercise caution, and farmers are urged to plan their operations based on the weather forecast.
