133 died, 225 injured due to heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan witnessed 133 deaths and 215 injuries as a result of the recent monsoon rains since June 25.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) report, 133 deaths and 215 injuries, including 21 women and 55 children, have been confirmed thus far.
As severe rain continued to wreak havoc across the nation, NDMA data reveals that 368 dwellings had also been destroyed.
As per NDMA data, Punjab had the highest death toll with 65 victims of the heavy rains, 35 victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and six victims in Balochistan.
Yesterday evening, The Punjab government has issued a red alert in the province Punjab as Pakistan was devastated by floods.
Punjab interim information minister Amir Mir stated during a news conference that the Punjab cabinet emergency meeting examined the flood situation.
He claimed that additional flooding will occur in the Punjab if India had severe rainfall. In the event of significant rains, the Sutlej and Ravi rivers' water levels will rise enormously.
The minister of information asked those who live close to riverbanks to leave their houses and relocate to a safe location.
In addition, he cautioned that if India experienced excessive rains, Shadara could sink as it did in 1988.
