ECP will appoint caretaker prime minister, claims Latif Khosa
The PPP leader and former Punjab governor says the present government is worse than the martial law setups in the country.
Islamabad: Former Punjab Governor and senior lawyer Sardar Latif Khan Khosa said that the incumbent government is the worst than the martial law, saying that the people were not subjected to such humiliation which they faced during this government.
Khosa said that the caretaker prime minister would not come from the PML-N, and that it is the ECP that would appoint the caretaker prime minister.
“When the PML-N will be out of power it will blame others for the decisions,” said the PPP leader while talking on a local private TV. He said that Khsoa also rejected the news of his suspension from the PPP, saying that he was still member of the party and nobody could suspend his membership.
Sardar Latif Khan Khosa said that Nawaz Sharif should get his sentence removed first before nominating Ishaq Dar for caretaker prime minister.
“it is clear that the elections will not be held as long as the bat—the electoral symbol of the PTI—is there on the ballot paper,” said Khosa.
They get them cleaned from the cases and made such legislation which destroyed the state institutions. This government, he said, gave powers to the ECP. The elections were not conducted in KP and Punjab because of the fear, he added.
Referring to a statement of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Khosa said that it showed “fraud”, adding that these leaders should go to the markets without protocol.
“In my view, there is no sign of elections this year,” said Khosa, adding that the recent legislations to empower the caretaker government aimed at this plan of delaying elections. He regretted that the power politics was being done rather than peoples’ politics in the country.
